I've come to the conclusion that I need more substance and angst in my BDSM reads. Neither are in this short ebook. I'm giving Once a Brat 3 stars because it was nicely written. At the heart was a pleasant enough story, but it was nothing out of the ordinary, honestly, it mostly bored me. It was the same old same old -

New, bratty but cute sub

Dominant that's happy being on his own until, of course, said bratty, cute sub comes along

Dom teaching the new sub what it means to be a good sub

Sub falling in love with the Dom, wondering if it will be reciprocated

Total an utter control at all times by the Dom, even when the Dom doesn't get off

Dom anxious about collaring

I didn't like either character. I also didn't mind them - Marcus and Bret the Brat were just...okay

If you like BDSM light, some spanking, some bondage, then this is a quick and easy read.
